Concurso Tree House Module

The project was conceived from the idea of generating a space that awakens our inner child, that is, we materialize the dream of floating among the trees with a fluid and light space, which has the option of providing the feeling of both privacy and opening with an innovative and respectful

solution with nature, which does not compete with the environment but interweaves with it, providing a contribution of sensitivity and reality at the same time. We were inspired by the castle towers of medieval France,  that is why we use diagonal lines in the design to simulate the ascending shape of the towers and transmit a sample of the symbolism of the architecture of the past over that of the present. Likewise, we use wood in the design since it is an element that has its own life and in its materiality the passage of time is reflected, just like the stone in the castles.

We design two functional modules that have the possibility of being closed for privacy or opening onto the landscape. The first module is a

lightweight volume that is suspended between trees with lines of steep angles. The user accesses the module by climbing through an openwork staircase that, at the same time, frames the undergrowth of the forest. The wall that surrounds the entrance to the module is randomly drilled to generate a game between light and shadow inside the space. The adjoining space that works as the living/dining room can be opened thanks to a lifting lattice to give the feeling of being on a large balcony towards the castle. On the other hand, to re-frame the forest from the master bedroom a floor-to-ceiling window was included. In addition to having a comfortable and spacious roof terrace, it has a structure based on steel piles that simulate tree branches and allow us to have the feeling of floating among them.

The second module is located on solid ground, it is a volume that maintains the same

architectural language. In this case, the main bedroom is resolved with a double height above the living / dining room with the most privileged view of   the Chateau, as well as a sauna that can be fully opened to the forest.

With this architectural intervention, we not only seek solutions through functional  spaces that promote experiential tourism in those magical lands, but also highlight the feudal architecture of Mothe Chandeniers, Ebaupinay, Vibrac and also generate memorable experiences that take your breath away.
